Summer Camp

Lolie Eccles Early Education Center at the YWCA Utah is excited to announce our 2021 summer camp program for children ages 5-12! This year, Summer Camp hours are from 7:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m.

The YWCA Summer Camp seeks to create a well-rounded summer of learning, fun, and adventure! Our program provides daily field trips, awesome activities, a sense of community and long-lasting friendships when you leave.

Morning and afternoon snacks are included. Bring your own lunch and water bottle.

As the summer approaches, we will work directly with Salt Lake County, with attention to the guidelines from the CDC to make any scheduling changes or cancellations regarding COVID-19.

Outings & Activities

When we aren't out and about for each week's themed activities, we will utilize the equipment and many play areas that our YWCA campus offers. With a fully equipped gym space, open green space field, and playground, we will play organized games, team-building activities, and give the children plenty of creative free-play. We will also benefit from a classroom that is fully furnished with games, books, computers, learning activities, and creative art supplies to embrace your child's interests. We are also partnering with some amazing local programs, including Westminster College's Health, Wellness and Athletic Center and Wasatch Community Gardens.


2021 Summer Camp Tuition is $250/week when camp falls on a short week due to a holiday, 80% of the full week fee will be charged. Summer camp registration is for the full week and is not available on a per-day basis.

STEM legobotAdventure Awaits

June 7th - June 11th

Pack your bags, friends, cause you're heading to summer camp at the YWCA! Join us as we kick off summer with a jam-packed week of adventure! Experience farm life as we explore Wheeler Historic Farm to try our hand as a blacksmith, "milker," and butter churner! Get those creative juices flowing when the Drum Bus makes a stop at the Y. Then, Bricks and Minifigs will visit us and help us build creations that are truly AWE-mazing. But wait, that's not all! Grab your shoes because we're finishing this first week with a hike up to Potato Hill! Get ready because this is the first taste of all the fun that's to come this summer.  



Wasatch Community GardensAnimal Alley

June 14th - June 18th

Lions, Birds, and Reptiles…Oh My! We will start the week with a bird's eye view while visiting our friends at Tracy Aviary. We'll hang with the harbor seals, discover the African savannah, and waddle like penguins at the Hogle Zoo. Let's take a trip to the mountains and hunt the hills of the Wild Rose Trail.  Scales and Tails will test your bravery as you come face-to-face with snakes, bugs, tarantulas, and more! We will close out the week going back in time to explore the Golden Compass Road and other historical markers at Parley's Historic Nature Park. It's sure to be a roaring good time! 



climbingDestination Exploration 

June 21st - June 25th 

Calling all explorers! We will kick off the week at Liberty Park, dodging, weaving, and relaying our way to the finish line with some fun field day challenges.  Take a walk on the planks of the Silver Lake trail. Grab your binoculars and hit the Birdsong Trail in search of amazing birds, bugs, and springs inside the deep dark forest. We will end the week testing our climbing skills on the giant rope spiral at Vineyard Grove Park and splash pad. Join us...destinations await.

June 29th - July 2nd 

Follow us into the unknown and discover something new! We will start off the week testing the waters at the Draper splash pad. Then, travel back with us to Pioneers' days, as we visit This is the Place Heritage Park. You'll have the chance to pan for gold, beat a rug, and visit the Native American Village to learn about the tribes of Northern and Southern Utah. Got milk? We will tie on our aprons and test our baking skills by making the best chocolate chip cookies…taste test required. Keep an eye out for our friends from the depths of the seas to the tops of the trees of South America as we make our way through the Living Planet Aquarium. We will end the week with some backyard summer fun…water balloon baseball, anyone?!

July 5th - July 9th

Kevin Costner not included! Make sure to bring your towel and swimsuit as we hit the road this week with the National Ability Center, and make a stop at Jordanelle Reservoir to partake in some fun paddle sports.  We will go in search of the ultimate splash pad along the Wasatch Front. Water science will wet your curiosity as we discover why oranges sink and float. Join us as we compete in a car wash relay, three-legged race, and other games that'll get your heart pumping! We will end the week by dodging the ducks and climbing the dragon at Fitts Park. Water wonderful time it's going to be!

July 12th - July 16th

We've got our ion you! Join us as we dabble in a little mad science.  Grab your goggles and test tubes as you become a chemist with Little Beakers Science Lab.  Test the elements of water and air at Oquirrh Shadows Park splash pad. Test the principles of physics by finding out what makes bread rise. Let's find out as we knead, pull, and make our own delicious dough. Hear that? Test your auditory senses and listen for babbling brooks, native birds, and other nature sounds as we hike to Lake Solitude.  Calling all engineers! Play-Well TEKnologies will pay us a visit to solve real-world engineering challenges using LEGOS. It's going to be a scien-terrific week!

July 19th - July 23rd

We'll kick off this week with games galore.  Slow and steady won't win this race as you hop your way to the finish line in a potato sack. Don't let a little relay ruffle your feathers because next, you'll be racing with chickens and their eggs. We'll head north to explore Ogden's North Nature Trail and cool off frolicking in the water at Ellison splash pad.  Finally, we will slither into the weekend with a slip n’ slide, Duck, Duck, Splash, and a little liquid limbo. It's sure to be an egg-cellent time!

July 26th - July 30th 

Get ready to do your own stunts as you scramble your way to the top of the 25-foot fire tower and test gravity by zooming down the twisty slide, or cool off by the waterfall at Wardle Fields Park and splash pad. Join us as we learn to make happy trees with the master himself, Bob Ross, and take in an in-home summer blockbuster.  Are you in the running to win best splash at the Amphitheater splash pad?  The cast and crew will take you through an epic adventure by exploring Ann's hiking trail.  Finally, take the stage at Fitts Park for an Awe-inspiring talent show.

August 2nd - August 6th

This week is all about beating the heat! Pack your towel and join us as we make a stop at Legacy splash pad.  Next, we'll set sail and dive into underwater discoveries and explore rainforests and deserts at The Sea Quest Interactive Aquarium.  An urban treasure hunt will lead us to a dreaded pirate, buried treasure, and the ultimate in-water fun! Test your sea legs as you balance on the ropes course at Lodestone Park. We'll end the week continuing our search for the best splash pads in the Salt Lake Valley…Argh Matey!

August 9th - August 13th

Join us for a week of wonders! We will head on over to Knudsen corner and spend the day at the park.  At the Museum of Natural Curiosity, we will satiate our spirit of inquiry by exploring and interacting with the exhibits. We will continue to build our curiosity as we head on over to the Children's Discovery Garden. Who doesn't love an ooey…gooey…mess? We will fire up our own solar ovens and make s'mores…yum! We'll cool our jets and head on over to Independence Park and splash pad.  This week will end by hitting the Holbrook trail in search of waterfalls. Whoever said curiosity killed the cat had never been to a week of YWCA summer camp before!

August 16th - August 18th

Join us for one last hurrah before school starts. We'll waddle over to Wardle Fields Park and splash pad.  At the Draper City splash pad we will scramble over rocks, attempt the ring of water, and picnic under the pavilion. Finally, grab your box of Kleenex as we reminisce on our own adventures while watching the movie UP. We will slip and slide our way into the school year with some epic water games and the ultimate pizza party. That's a wrap!
